AndroidTVonPC Logo

This is a simple guide aimed to help set-up Android TV on a PC using various methods.

The software and images used here do not contain any sort of malware or any telemetry. You can perform any virus checks on the file sources I provide in this documentation.

This documentation project is possible thanks to Bruno and HmTheBoy154 for providing relevant files to set this up.

This process will involve the manipulation of partitions and data present on your storage mediums that you will choose later. It is recommended to perform a backup of your data present in those mediums if possible to avoid data loss.

Why This Project

I have encountered many "smart" TV Boxes that are open in the market to transform a digital-only TV to a "smart" TV. These usually have malware built onto it that provide telemetry to the manufacturers like the T95/T95 Max and RockChip 3328 which has malware according to DesktopECHO on GitHub. Due to these reasons, one would like control over their account data and enjoy what truly AOSP should have been, and to enjoy multimedia like how a real TV should work like.

To further prove these claims, Linus from Linus Tech Tips has made a video detailing on this better. Have a look:

And I mean, yes, this is a way to enjoy sailing the high seas of the internet (iykyk), it shouldn't be at the cost of your data or your accounts.

This documentation project aims to also provide genuine streaming platforms that you can replicate on an existing Android TV or Android system, but I advise you to check your local streaming regulations in order to not fall into legal issues.
